If Romeo and Juliet had lived, do you think their love story would have ended as David and Harriet?
I'm torn between «yes» and «no» because it depends on how strong their love is after many years...
«No» , if they had time to start a family and if their families had stopped fighting all the time, that would have made kids more sound in mind. If they didn't have time to start a family or if they just didn't want to... I think their love should have been strong enough to last... at least, for a while.
«Yes» , if the pressure of the outside world was too rough and they couldn't bear it...Even more in case that they had kids (and even more more , if one of their kids had seemed like Ben), the pressure would, for sure, had driven them all crazy because, eventually they may had to make a choice (like David and Harriet), a choice that could have killed their love.
For example :
Since Romeo killed Tybalt, the Capulet Family decided to end the relationship for sure. That's why, when Juliet get pregnant, she run away from the families with Romeo. As the little boy (Colin) grew up, he started to be more than more close to his father and cheeky with his mother. And so, when both families found out about the baby (now, a teenager) some kind of «families war» started again with a new member on the Montigue side : Colin. At this exact moment, L♥VE between Romeo and Juliet was translated into HATRED.
Even if it's quite different from David and Harriet, we can't imagine that a LOVE so strong could end with no feelings between the two lovers.
In fact , there's a small border between love and hatred...
